Matthew (he/him)
Dipl. Couns. BSc MPeace&ConfSt Cert. IV in Training and Assessment.
Matthew is a qualified counsellor and mediator, specialising in male mental health and eco-anxiety.
With a strong background in conflict resolution, Matthew takes a holistic, client-centred approach to help individuals of all ages cultivate resilience, find balance, and reconnect with a sense of confidence.
Matthew works with men and young men to address emotional well-being in a society that often discourages vulnerability. Matthew creates a supportive, confidential environment where men can openly explore their feelings, overcome stigma, and develop healthy coping strategies for stress, depression, and anxiety.
With an interest in eco-anxiety, Matthew helps clients navigate the emotional impact of climate change and ecological issues.
He holds space for individuals to process feelings of fear, grief, and helplessness related to the environment and community, fostering hope, resilience, and agency. This approach is particularly beneficial for youth, who face the added pressures of growing up in an era of environmental uncertainty.
Originally a fish farmer, he then spent many years with multi-national corporations, followed by work in small business and university. Underpinning these experiences is a deep spiritual connection to nature and the wilder places in the world.
